Marysue Moses
Marysue Moses is a dementia educator, consultant, and former memory care coordinator who helps caregivers and professionals create more meaningful, engaging experiences for people living with dementia.
The youngest of five siblings, Marysue comes from a Scrabble family. She loves words, especially those of Shakespeare. When she was a devoted "theatre kid" playing Gertrude in Hamlet at a New Jersey high school, she had no clue that the creative skills she was developing as an actress would help her in her mid-life change of career—and lead her to writing a book.
Marysue adored working directly with people living with dementia when she served as an Activities Coordinator and Memory Care Coordinator for twelve years. After earning a Master's in Gerontology, Marysue became the Dementia Program Coordinator for Ebenezer Management Services, providing training and guidance on dementia care best practices at close to 40 sites. Now semi-retired (how else could she ever write the book that was rattling around in her brain?), she still serves Ebenezer as a Dementia Educator.
Marysue has presented on dementia topics at conferences in the Twin Cities, Duluth, San Diego, Atlanta, and Paris. She enjoys speaking, training, and consulting opportunities.

I wrote Good Grief!, the blog you'll find below, some months ago, but I'm dedicating it today to my friend Carol, who died recently at 87. For several years, I've been a friendly visitor for Carol through a wonderful volunteer matching organization called Friends & Co. I was hoping to be paired with someone who was living with dementia, given my background (and my book), but Carol did not have one iota of dementia. (Yes, I felt a little guilty and selfish being disappointed about that.)...
The whirlwind:
My first book talk at Write on Door County on August 8 was warm and friendly, thanks to the generous efforts of Estella Lauder and Jerod Santek. My siblings Bob and Marilyn were there.

I suspect this blog may feel more like a personal weather report. There's a rainstorm of excitement to be had as I prepare my first author talk for Saturday, August 8, at Write On, Door County, in Fish Creek, Wisconsin. My book finally has a firm release date (cue the sunshine as well as the Hallelujah chorus) of August 25th. That's the first day anyone will be able to order a copy. Magically, I will have books with me to sell in Door County! Who knew that was possible before a release date?...
